Christian Soares

Head Coach & Co-Founder

Christian Soares is a highly skilled Football Head Coach and player engagement specialist with a rich and diverse background in the global football landscape. Beginning his career in Brazil, Christian has worked with several reputable teams across Brazil and Australia, bringing deep expertise in strength and conditioning, technical coaching, and player development.

BRAZIL COACHING CAREER

Head Coach Christian served as a Football Coach at Grêmio Futebol Porto Alegrense from January 2001 to November 2003, followed by a role as Strength & Conditioning and Football Coach at Sport Club Internacional Porto Alegre from August 2003 to June 2004.

AUSTRALIA COACHING CAREER

Currently, Christian is the Head of Football and First Grade Coach at Dunbar Rovers FC, a position he has held since February 2017. His Australian coaching journey also includes roles as Clinics Coach at Sydney FC, Strength & Conditioning Coach at Fraser Park FC, Football Coach at Kincoppal Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart (2009–2010) and U13 NPL Youth Coach at Apia Leichhardt Tigers (2009–2010).

Head Coach Christian is a highly experienced Futsal coach and currently serves as the First Grade Coach for Sydney Futsal Club. His previous roles include ES Hakoah (2019-2020) and Enfield Allstars (2018-2019).

In 2011, he founded Functional Football Training, where he held the position of Head Coach, showcasing his leadership and passion for player motivation and development.

Christian’s coaching style is defined by his ability to work under pressure, lead effectively, and inspire players to reach their full potential. He has a natural talent for identifying and refining individual strengths, and his holistic approach to training continues to make a lasting impact on the football community.

Renato Jelen

Head Coach & Co-Founder

Renato Jelen is a highly experienced Football Head Coach with a diverse and accomplished coaching background spanning across competitive State leagues, top Academies and independent schools across Australia. Head Coach Renato's firsthand playing experience in Brazil and Australia informs his coaching philosophy, blending creativity, tactical insight with a strong understanding of player development.

PLAYING CAREER

Head Coach Renato has had an outstanding playing career. With deep roots in the game, he has competed in First Grade Football for Flamengo De Guarulhos F.C and Uniao De Mogi F.C Clubs in Brazil, whilst in Australia, he made his mark at Dulwich Hill, Macarthur Rams, Cockburn City S.C, and Dainella White Eagles. Head Coach Renato has excelled in Futsal, showcasing his versatility and technical skills while playing at Sao Paulo FC, Sydney University FC, Sydney Magic, and Mascot Vipers.

COACHING CAREER

Head Coach Renato Jelen brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the pitch. Currently serving as Technical Director for Dunbar Rovers Juniors FC, Renato is also the co-founder of the Juniors Development Program, a testament to his commitment to nurturing young talent.

His coaching journey spans across competitive State Leagues, top academies, and independent schools throughout Australia. He has held pivotal roles as Technical Director and First Grade Coach for the UNSW Women’s State League and the Eastern Suburbs Football Association Regional Youth League. His school coaching experience includes head coaching positions at Cranbrook School, Ascham Junior and Senior School, and The Scots College, as well as serving as Head Coach at Football-Tech Academy in Perth.

Beyond coaching, Renato has successfully organised tours and tournaments, showcasing his planning skills and deep understanding of the game’s broader landscape.

With a distinguished playing career and a proven coaching track record, Renato Jelen is a well-rounded and highly respected Football Head Coach, equipped to guide players both on and off the field.
